The Role

OVERVIEW
The Event Logistics Runner serves as the logistical backbone of Sumo + Sushi. Working under the direction of the Head of Food & Beverage and Staffing & Operations Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring products, equipment, food, and operational supplies move efficiently between vendors, restaurant partners, warehouses, airports, and the venue — keeping every department supplied and every event on schedule.
This position combines procurement, transportation, food logistics, and event operations into one highly dynamic role. Throughout the event weekend, the Event Logistics Runner is trusted to complete time-sensitive pickups, safely operate company vehicles, support Bento Box logistics, maintain financial accountability for purchases, and assist with venue operations whenever scheduled runs are complete.
This position is typically hired on a city-by-city basis, although exceptional candidates may be invited to support additional markets or future SE Productions events.

The Event Logistics Runner is one of the most trusted operational positions on the Sumo + Sushi team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in being dependable, and finds satisfaction in solving logistical challenges before they become operational problems.
The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, accountable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities throughout the day. One moment they may be retrieving product from an airport cargo facility, the next picking up Bento Boxes from a restaurant partner, unloading supplies at the venue, restocking the Bar, or jumping into event setup.
This person understands that urgency and accuracy are equally important. Moving quickly does not mean skipping communication, losing receipts, damaging product, or taking unnecessary risks. Strong Event Logistics Runners are trusted because the team knows that when they are assigned something, it will get done safely, correctly, and on time.

Local Event Position
Candidates must be available for all scheduled load-in, event, and load-out shifts within their assigned market.
Exceptional candidates may be invited to support additional SE Productions events or future Sumo + Sushi tour markets.
Experience
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in event production, logistics, hospitality, catering, food service, procurement, or delivery operations.
- Experience operating box trucks and refrigerated trucks preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable driving commercial vehicles in urban environments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Highly dependable and accountable.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Previous live event experience is a plus.
The Work
PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable loading and unloading equipment, food, and supplies.
- Ability to move carts, coolers, boxes, and event equipment.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles for extended periods.
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Compensation
HOURLY RATE:
BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Final compensation will be discussed during the interview process based on the scope of the position, event schedule, market, and candidate experience.
This is an hourly position and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable company policies and local labor requirements. Payouts will align with SE Productions' regular hourly employee payroll schedule.
Final compensation details and scheduling expectations will be communicated prior to hire.
